About Meridian
Software that works for the broker in the middle.
Most software sold to brokers is really software sold to insurers, with a broker seat added afterwards. It reports on one insurer's products, optimises one insurer's book, and quietly makes placing business anywhere else harder than it needs to be.
Meridian starts from the other end. The broker is the customer. The book belongs to the brokerage. Insurers are rows in a list, all of them equal and all of them swappable, because that is what independence actually requires from a piece of software.
That choice has consequences we accept on purpose. No insurer has visibility into what a brokerage places. No insurer's branding appears in the product. If Meridian ever takes investment from an insurer, that rule gets stricter rather than looser, because that is precisely the moment a broker starts to wonder.
What we hold to
Four things we will not trade away.
Every one of these costs us something. That is roughly the point of writing them down.
Tell them what to do next
A report describes a problem. Meridian names the action, the reason and what it is worth, then gets out of the way.
Neutral, and provably so
No insurer's logo, colour or product bias anywhere in the product. Neutrality that cannot be checked is just a claim.
Say the uncomfortable number
If seventeen clients have gone ninety days without contact, the product says seventeen and shows the list, sorted by what they are worth.
The book is not ours
Export on request, no lock in, no retention conversation. Software should be kept because it works.
Who builds it
Meridian is built and run by Zizian (Pty) Ltd, a South African engineering company that builds real time operational platforms. Zizian builds the software. The brand a broker deals with is Meridian.
